Butterfly posters for garden centres
Butterfly posters for garden centres

Green, indigenous gardening is all the rage these days, with more and more gardeners wanting to do more with their property than just growing plants. Butterflies - 'flying flowers' - are a natural part of this and any garden with copious flowers will attract them. More and more people want to know more about butterflies - such as their names, what plants they need, and how to recognise them.

Butterfly posters for garden centresA handy poster designed and published by butterfly expert Steve Woodhall is now available. This attractive, A1 (594mm x 841mm) wall poster, printed on glossy 150g paper, is an at-a-glance guide to the 40 species of butterfly most likely to be seen in gardens around Southern Africa. Photographs of each are accompanied by short notes on size, caterpillar food plants, habits and distribution.

The poster retails at R50 a copy, either from garden centres, butterfly houses or bookshops, or can be purchased direct from the author (contact details below). Trade enquiries are welcome and normal booksellers' discounts apply.

What is Life is a Garden?

The Life is a Garden campaign was launched in August 2008 by the South African Nursery Association to promote gardening as a leisure time hobby.

The campaign provides gardening features and pictures to the media to assist with the promotion of gardening and organises regional promotions in local garden centres.

As the marketing arm of SANA, Life is a Garden also facilitates and supports the Water Wise campaigns with Rand Water and the Plant Me Instead campaign with Working for Water Nurseries Partnership Programme.
